Crossroads is a Minecraft game modification with the goal of making automation interesting. There is no one block solution, and every system should be carefully designed in order to make it the best it can be. Instead, there are simple machines that get combined to create complex contraptions. Prepare to design heat distribution systems that get as hot as possible without melting, and gear setups that aim for specific speed to energy ratios. Crossroads has been described as a mod where you make Rube Goldberg machines, except they're the simplest way to do things.

Crossroads is actively developed by Technomancer. You can download this game modification for your specific version of the game from CurseForge.

You can talk to members of the Crossroads community on Discord.

Before using Discord, please be aware that there are better alternatives, such as any chat client using the standard Matrix protocol. Discord is riddled with security vulnerabilities (such as the lack of end-to-end encryption, a basic security/privacy feature present on almost every communication tool nowadays) and is non-free (as in freedom) software. It is also a severe violation of your privacy, which isn't really worth it considering how many features it lacks compared to other options (not that it would be worth it anyway). You can learn more about this here. The usage of the Discord communications system is not endorsed by LotteLink. We host our own Matrix homeserver.

Official Minecraft Server

The Crossroads community has an official public Minecraft server, using a custom modpack (which, as you'd expect, contains Crossroads, among other mods).

You can find links to download every version of the modpack below. Please try to use the torrent downloads. You will not have a remotely good experience using the HTTP download. If you don't have a torrent client, install one. Deluge is completely free, fairly lightweight and very easy to use. It will allow you to click on and use the magnet torrent links provided here.

Warning: Please use a tool such as GnuPG to verify anything you download here against its corresponding PGP signature using my public key. This modpack includes plenty of code that will be executed on your computer, because that's just how mods work. As such, you should do your best to verify that the files you've just downloaded are actually from a trusted source and haven't been tampered with. Please DO NOT forget to verify them. It's just good practice.

Once you have downloaded the modpack, you must import it into a compatible Minecraft launcher. We recommend a free and open source launcher known as MultiMC, as this modpack was designed for it. Once you've installed MultiMC and added your Minecraft account as the default login account (you should automatically be prompted to do this either when you start the launcher or when you start the modpack), simply follow these instructions:

  1. Click on the "Add Instance" button located in the top left of the user interface.
  2. Select the "Import from zip" option in the left-hand menu of the newly opened window.
  3. Click on "Browse" on the right.
  4. You should now see a file browser. Use this to find and open the zip archive you just downloaded.
  5. Click "OK" at the bottom of the import window. You should now see the modpack in your main launcher window (The icon is a very surprised cat).
  6. Double click on the icon to launch the modpack for the first time.
  7. The Minecraft server should already be available in your server browser when you click "Multiplayer" on the game menu. If it isn't, simply connect to
